Softball, baseball, live music, cars, food, drinks, games and much more – Memorial Day weekend is time for Maifest, being held this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, at Memorial Park in Nashville.
The event is sponsored by the Nashville Lions Club, and Lion Gary Malawy, who is in charge of the softball and little league said that this was the first year in a long time that Maifest didn’t coincide with graduation, which he hoped would boost attendance.
Washington County Conext will also be out the park for Maifest and will be presenting a movie night at the pavilion and will have plenty of giveaways for kids.
For food, “we’re gonna have brats, barbecue, porkburgers, hamburgers, and pork steaks also,” said Lion Harry Easley, “that’s a big one for us.” There will also be plenty of sides and guests can eat there or carry out.
Maifest kicks off with the slow pitch softball tournament starting Friday night at 7 p.m., and will feature live music from Tony Waters that night.
Saturday, more baseball and softball start at 9 a.m. Venedy Band plays that night at 7 p.m. and the Threshermen start at 9 p.m.
On Sunday, check out the car show, registration from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., and the little league tournament may still be going on, if necessary.
