Okawville Soda Festival To Be Held June 11-12

The first ever Okawville Soda Festival will be held at Heritage Days on June 11-12 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. each day. The festival will feature the eighteen varieties of old-fashioned, pure cane sugar glass bottle sodas made at Excel Bottling Co. in Breese. All ages will be able to taste sodas for just 25 cents each sample. For $5.00, soda lovers can be a VIP Taster which includes unlimited tastings in a souvenir tasting glass. The new Gooey Butter Soda will be just one of the sodas for sampling. Other flavors for tasting will be Ski, Cherry Ski, Red Cream, Blueberry Breese, Orange Pineapple, Cherry Breese, Black Cherry, Strawberry Kiwi Breese, Lucky Club Cola, Golden Ginger Ale, R-Pep, Sparkling Life, Frostie Root Beer, Million $ Orange, Million $ Strawberry, Million $ Grape, and Rummy. Bottles will be available for purchase. Scoops of homemade ice cream will be available for purchase to make a great ice cream float to enjoy on a warm summer day! Grilled brats, hamburgers, hot dogs, buttered noodles, German potato salad and other delicious items are also available at the Heritage Days food stand both days. Heritage Days event is held at the Heritage House Museum at 114 West Walnut Street in Okawville.
