This coming Saturday, July 2, beginning at 8 a.m. a work day has been scheduled for the Village Park. We will be painting the bathrooms, raking the playground, and general ‘face-lift’ duties as we prepare for the 48th Annual Hoyleton Hofbraufest, come join us as we all know many hands shorten the work day! Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Karianne Schnitker returns for her 3rd year as the M.C. for the Hofbraufest Pet Parade. The parade is slated for Saturday, July 9 at 1:00 p.m. under the pavilion. Last year saw a wide variety of canines – some costumed, others on the runway for their stature, and we even had a goat enter the competition! Fido’s Fashions will be in the park as a vendor if you are needing to outfit and accessorize your pet.

Raffle tickets are 6 for $5.00 and feature 40 prizes – the tickets will be available for sale in the park all 3 days of the Hofbraufest and the winner need not be present to win.

Delicious dinners will be served in the park – Saturday is a bratwurst and pork steak dinner with all the trimmings. Dinner is served from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday dinner begins at 11:00 a.m. with fried and smoked chicken, along with bratwurst and continues to be served until 7:00 p.m. The meals are served in the air conditioned building.

We are needing cakes, pies, and your specialty dessert donated to serve with our dinners on both Saturday and Sunday. You can bring your dessert to the main room of the Community Club building. Your donation is much appreciated!

Please be sure to clip out the ad in this week’s Nashville News detailing the fun-filled events occurring at the Hofbraufest. The Community Club has once again partnered with the Hoyleton Children’s Home and their yard will serve as the stage for the tractor/lawnmower show on Saturday, July 9 (noon to 5pm) and on Sunday, the Car Show will begin registration at 8:00 a.m. Judging begins at 12 noon with awards presentation set for 3:00 p.m.

Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ will gather to worship on Sunday, July 3rd at 10 am. The Gospel lesson is Luke 10: 1-11 and 16-20. Volunteers are needed for the Food Pantry on July 2nd at 9 am. The church is still sponsoring young people who want to attend summer camp.
