The Ashley Public Library received a $500.00 grant from Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial. A color copier was purchased and some really nice books. The Ashley Library has movies available for free. Residents of Richview Township, Dubois Towship and Ashley do you have a library card?
Farmers and Merchants Bank will host a Community Shred Party Saturday Aug 13 at Nashville Community Center Parking Lot at 8 am to 11 am. Electronics recycling 8 to noon .Washington County Solid Waste Committee and Washington County Health Department. For more information call 327 -4401.
The Ashley Community Committee meets the second Sunday of every month at 6pm at the United Methodist Church. New members and volunteers are welcome to attend. A.C.C is busy planning the Christmas craft fair for Nov 12 and a comedy night as well with Ashley ‘ s very own Kathy Zeman and her friends. A.C.C will need volunteers to help finish painting the playground equipment at the park as soon as it cools off so contact me if your interested in helping.
The city council meets the third Monday of every month. If you have questions or concerns please feel free to contact any of your councilman or go to a city meeting. Building permits are available at city hall. The city installed 2 new stop signs on Jefferson St by 7th Street to help slow traffic down.
Ashley United Methodist Church is hosting Vacation Bible School this week. Church services every Sunday morning at 8:30 am.
Summer vacation is going by very fast. Keep collecting the box tops and soda tabs for the Ashley Grade School. I am sure that the school will welcome donations of kleenex, chlorox wipes and hand sanitizer as well and if you can donate school supplies for the kids that don’t have supplies feel free to drop them off at the school office..
