The 5th Ranked 11 U Sting team entered the Southern Illinois Select Baseball League Tournament with a record of 8&4. The challenge was to win it all, and that is just what they did! On July 9th the Sting faced off with the Waterloo Wizards. This was a battle of the bats that started in the Wizards favor but ended with the sting on top 7-16. This win earned the 11U boys an opportunity to go up against the #1 Ranked Blue Sox. Early Sunday morning the Sting jumped on top of the Blue Sox early gaining a 3-0 lead and holding the normally hot bats of the Blue Sox to only 4 hits. The Sting earned a trip to the Championship by defeating the Blue Sox 4-1. In the championship game the Sting met up to the challenge of the 2nd ranked O’Fallon Bulls. Again the Sting jumped out in front early with 7 runs in the first 3 innings and battled to keep the lead ending with an 11-3 victory. When the dust settled the Sting stood tall hoisting the trophy above their heads!
