Mrs. Darlene Rennegarbe of Okawville departed this life in the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville on Saturday, July 30 at 8:34 P.M. after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She had attained the age of 75 years and 22 days.
Darlene was born in Nashville, IL on July 8, 1941 the daughter of Homer and Florence (nee Hoelscher) Mittendorf. She was baptized in the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Nashville on July 27, 1941 and confirmed there on April 3, 1955. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Rennegarbe on May 13, 1961 in St. Paul’s Church in Nashville and he survives her passing.
Mrs. Rennegarbe was a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She was a faithful member of the Olive Branch Lutheran Church in rural Okawville.
Left to mourn her passing is her husband, Kenneth of Okawville; four children, David Rennegarbe and wife Darla of Addieville, Sandy Bergkoetter and husband Ron of St. Libory, Becky Criner and husband Brad of Coffeen and Jason Rennegarbe and wife Christine of Ballwin, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; one great grandchild; two nieces and a nephew and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter-in-law, Laura.
Funeral Services will be held from the Olive Branch Lutheran Church in Okawville on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 1 P.M. with Pastor Jeffrey Nerht officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Olive Branch Lutheran Church or to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
