Krystal Henry Benefit To Be Held August 21

The family of Krystal Henry will be hosting a benefit on August 21 at Ashley Park Community Building. The benefit will feature a spaghetti dinner, a silent auction, a live auction, a ducky doodle, a gun raffle, a 50/50 raffle, t-shirts and more.

The spaghetti dinner will begin at 11 a.m and will include salad, bread, dessert, and tea/lemonade and coffee. Adults cost $10 and kids ages five and under are free. The silent auction will also begin at 11 a.m, and will close at the end of the live auction, which begins at 2 p.m. The live auction will feature lots of new merchandise, donated gift items, and donations from generous contributors. Donations are welcome.

50/50 tickets cost $1 per ticket and tickets must be purchased by August 20. The Ducky Doodle begins at 1 p.m., and is $5 per number. There is also a contest for time the duck doodles, and the cost is % for time.

The gun raffle costs $10 per ticket. T-shirts and other items for the event will be on sale.

Henry was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, chordoma, in her throat last March. Chordoma is a very rare form of cancer with approximately one new case per million people each year. Statistics show about 2,400 people in the United States that are living with chordoma. Henry is a teacher at Raccoon Grade School in Centralia. Tim and Krystal Henry have two children, Zoe and Myla. Tim is a coal miner at the Prarie State Energy Campus
