Beatrice “Bea” Bergmann, 88, departed this life in the Friendship Manor Health Care Center in Nashville on Monday August 1. Friends paid their respects to the family at the Campagna Funeral Home in Okawville Sunday evening. Funeral Services were held at St. Salvator Lutheran Church in Venedy Monday at 11:00 am with Pastor Timothy Mueller officiating. Interment in the Church Cemetery.

Stanley and Ora Mae Droege, Steve and Gina Droege and David Droege attended the Gateway Grizzlie and Traverse City Beach Bums baseball game at the GCS Ballpark in Sauget Thursday evening. Grizzlies had a 3 – 0 victory.

Some area residents attended the St. Anthony Church Picnic Saturday evening.

Ryan and Kayla Droege visited at the home of David and Tiffany Droege in Millstadt Friday evening. On Saturday they were joined by Steve and Gina Droege, John Higginbotham, Ryan Shelton and Brooke Sepulveda for a work day helping David clear some of the 8 – 12 trees that he lost in the storm on July 13. A big dent was put in the clean-up.

Stanley and Ora Mae Droege paid their respects to the Ruth Nagel family and attended the ‘Thanksgiving for the Life’ Services on Saturday morning at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland with Rev Christopher W. Hill, Senior Pastor, officiating. Her husband Dale Nagel had passed away April 25, 2016.

Steve and Gina Droege attended the St. Louis Cardinal and Atlanta Braves baseball game at Busch Stadium Friday evening. Cards winning 1 – 0. Will we see Steve or Gina wearing their Fedora Hat?

Some area residents attended the 145th Birthday Celebration of Zion United Church of Christ, Addieville Sunday. It was a beautiful day for a picnic.

Pastor Art Eichhorn left this past week for a visit to Africa.

Now don’t forget the Venedy Picnic and Homecoming this Saturday. Antique Tractor Pull beginning at 11:00 am. Venedy Band plays from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, Backroads Band from 7:00 – 11:00 pm. Lots of good food and refreshments, games and Bingo.
