Mrs. Dorothy Eleanora Heberer of Nashville, departed this life at Friendship Manor Healthcare Center in Nashville on Friday, August 12 at 9:40 A.M. She had attained the age of 93 years and 10 months.
Mrs. Heberer was born on October 12, 1922 at Freeburg, the daughter of Laclede and Onda (Odell) Holcomb. She was united in marriage to Wilmer Heberer on October 24, 1943 in Texas and he preceded her in death on October 7, 2008.
Dorothy attended Rubicum Business College in St. Louis, Mo. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ of Nashville, where she was involved with the Dorcus Circle. Dorothy loved spending time with her family and was an avid golfer during retirement.
Left to mourn her passing are her three daughters, Ruth Fanslow and husband Robert of Parker, Colo., Pat Humphrey and husband Steve and Nancy Schmale all of Nashville; ten grandchildren, Cindy Klewin and husband Howard, Kerry Zapp, Jennifer Heberer and husband Gerhard Graml, Michael Heberer and wife Yoonhee, Chad Diedrich, Andrea Young and husband Chad, Jimmy Middleton, Sam Schmale, John Schmale and wife Alyssa and Ryan Humphrey and wife Betsy; twelve great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Ron Heberer; and a granddaughter, Jodi Zapp.
Funeral services were held at St. Paul United Church of Christ of Nashville, on Tuesday, August 23 at 9 A.M. with Rev. Beverly Kahle officiating and with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the St. Paul United Church of Christ and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
