St. Ann/TSJ Softball Drops Two Of Three

The St. Ann/TSJ softball team suffered losses in two of the past three games as they took on Tamaroa/St. Bruno, Central City, as well as Chester St. John.

St. Ann/TSJ took home their only win of the week with a 6-5 victory over Tamaroa/St. Bruno on August 26. St. Ann/TSJ scored two in the first, one in the third, three in the fifth, and withstood a late rally on their way to the win. St. Ann/TSJ was led by Colleen Jahnke who finished 2-2 with two doubles in the win. Reese Varel, and Cayla Krueger each had one hit and a run scored. Katie May scored two runs, and Abby Maschhoff scored one run in the win.

Two big innings doomed St. Ann/TSJ in their next contest as they lost to Central City 14-5 on August 30. Central City scored five runs in both the second and fifth innings to break the game open. St. Ann/TSJ would score two in the first, and three in the fifth for their scoring in the loss. Katie May, Abby Maschhoff

lone three hits for St. Ann/TSJ in the loss. Collen Jahnke and Kris May reached via the walk.

A shootout between St. Ann/TSJ and Chester St. John did not go the way of St. Ann/TSJ as they dropped the game 13-12. Chester St. John jumped out to an early 4-0 lead but St. Ann/TSJ scored five in the third and four in the fourth to take a 9-6 lead going into the fifth inning. St. Ann/TSJ would score three in the sixth, but Chester St. John came back for five in the bottom half of the inning. Chester St. John would score two in the bottom of the sevent to win the game. Krueger, Ruby Konkel and Katie May each had three hits in the loss, while Maschhoff, Tailor Pelczynski and Jahnke each had two hits in the loss.
