State Police Respond To Grain Truck Crash On Grand Road

Illinois State Police responded to South Grand, just north of Harrison Road, in rural Nashville, for a single vehicle minor personal injury crash that they report occurred at approximately 12:50 p.m., on Friday, September 9.

David Meyer, 67, of Nashville, was driving a 1981 International grain truck. Preliminary investigative details indicate the grain truck was traveling northbound on South Grand.

For an unknown reason, the truck drifted off of the roadway and into the ditch.

Once in the ditch, the truck traveled for a short distance upright before turning over onto its passenger side.

The truck was hauling grain, which had to be offloaded prior to up righting it.

The roadway was closed for approximately one hour for scene cleanup and crash investigation.

Meyer was transported via ambulance to a local hospital for minor injuries.

Meyer was charged with Improper Lane Usage, Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Operating a Vehicle With Expired Registration Sticker, and Failure to Wear A Seatbelt.
