Polly Kay (Gaebe) Christian of Oklahoma, Virginia (Clary) Cook of Texas, and Sharon (Lehde) Kirby of Edwardsville attended worship at Zion on Sunday. They were all out to attend their 50th High School Class Reunion and the Wheat Festival. Ann (Gaebe) Bakamjiam and a long time friend Kathy from Tulsa, OK were also out for the weekend.

The Wheat Festival ends the summer festivals. The parade on Sunday was nice with lots of bands. Addieville Fire Department, Frederking’s Eagle’s Nest, Addieville Jaycees float “Hagar the Horrible” were all in the parade.

Lyle Lehde was not the pooper scooper this year but it took four people to replace him. And how about Bob Eversgerd walking the parade route barefooted along side the Lil Abner float.

Jason, Natalie, Macy and Trenton Bergkoetter formerly of here and now reside in Highland were at the Wheat Festival. Trenton will be celebrating his sixth birthday next week.

Carol Lehde Phillips of Lake St Louis attended the Wheat Festival on Sunday.

Adrienne and Jennifer Smith of North Riverside visited Mary Lou Kitowski and Darlene Ostendorf on Monday evening. They were enroute home from a vacation to North Carolina. They enjoyed the Outter Banks, Kitty Hawk, Fort Mason, and the light houses. They also took in part of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Ken and Judy Ostendorf took in the Litchfield Pickers Flea Market on Sept 11. They also toured the very interesting RT 66 Museum at Litchfield. Helen Poirot formerly of Nashville is a volunteer at the museum but had just left before the Ostendorf’s arrived. The other volunteer called Helen so they spoke on the phone.

Mona Kuhlenengel and Melody Teten from Nebraska were out on Friday doing family research. They ate supper at Girolomos’s with Ken & JoAnn Harvey, Kim Harvey, Darlene Ostendorf, along with Melanie Harvey and Matthew and Marlena and Martha Williams from Kentucky. Jack Harvey was doing a Naval training in St Louis.
