The Nashvile High School girls golf team is getting ready for regionals as the season winds down. The Hornettes have just three matches remaining before regionals on October 5. The Hornettes have been placed in the Campbell Hill (Trico) Regional, which will take place at Jackson County Country Club in Campbell Hill. The sectional will be at Salem Country Club on Monday October 10.
The Hornettes only had one match this week, as they competed in the Belleville East Invitational, held at Yorktown Golf Course. The tournament featured fourteen teams, one of which they will see at regionals. The Hornettes finished second overall just five strokes behind winner, O'Fallon. Belleville Althoff finished third, followed by Belleville East and Collinsville. Other teams competing were Alton, Waterloo, Triad, Belleville West, Civic Memorial, Columbia, Granite City, Mascoutah, and Freeburg.
The Hornettes finished with a total score of 241. Jill Guetersloh was the top overall finisher for Nashville with a score of 59, which was eighth overall. Rachael Kell finished in tenth place overall in the tournament with a 60. Jordan Stiegman and Sara Guetersloh each finished with a 61 in the tournament. Hope Rueter finished with a 62, and Brooke Bartling finished with a 63.
