Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ, Hoyleton.

Sunday School begins at 9 a.m. on Sunday, followed by worship services at 10 o’clock. The theme for the day is ‘surprising investment” and is taken from lessons in the book of Luke 16: 19-31. The parable is about the rich man and Lazarus – one who has everything and the poor man Lazarus who has nothing and both men die. Upon death the rich man believes that he has not been treated unfairly and wants different arrangements made in his behalf. He is told to remember the good things he had in his lifetime.

The church council will meet on Sunday following worship. Members are reminded to be at the Food Pantry on Saturday, October 1 at 9 am. Volunteers are also needed at DuBois Center for the annual Fall Festival on October 2.
