District 49 Call Home

The PSO Spirit Wear Fundraiser continues until Sunday, October 2nd. There is a super great selection of shirts at unbeatable prices!

The first meeting of Kindergarten and First Grade Lego Club is Wednesday, September 28. Students must have written permission to attend. There will be no phone calls home to confirm if a student is going to Lego Club. If your child does not return the permission slip or other written confirmation of attending, your child will go home as usual on this day. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Students who are registered to attend Jr. Hornets will be able to go there after Lego Club is over at 4:00.

Thursday, September 29, our third grade students will enjoy a field trip to the Conservation Fair at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds! They will learn about weather, climate, and natural resources in our area and the influence on people, plants, and animals!

Friday, September 30 is an 11:30 dismissal day. There are no PreK and ECE classes on Friday. There will be no Jr. Hornets on Friday, September 30th. This is Nashville High School’s Homecoming Parade Day!! Please make sure your child has a note as to what to do after school if plans are different.

Friday, September 30 is also Hats Off to Cancer Day sponsored by our Student Council. Students can wear a hat to school if they bring in $1.00 to their teacher.

Looking ahead:

School Pictures are Thursday, October 6 for our Kindergarten and First Grade, and Friday, October 7 for our Second, Third, and Fourth Grade. A picture form has been sent home with your student.

Mrs. Redfeairn would like to thank all the 4th graders who handed in permission slips for the Christmas program. She was able to give every child their own special speaking or singing part!

Do you realize it’s only 11 weeks to Christmas? With that in mind, the K-4 students have made Christmas cards through a company called Mountain Color. An envelope with your child’s masterpiece came home on Friday. Please take some time to talk with your child about their artwork. Then if you want, you may order Christmas cards. 20% of every set sold comes back to the Fine Arts program here at school. EVEN IF YOU DO NOT ORDER CARDS, PLEASE RETURN THE SIGNED ENVELOPE AND ARTWORK SO I CAN HANG THE PROJECTS IN THE HALLS.
