Jake Heck

Jake Heck is a senior tight end/defensive end for the Nashville Hornets football team. Jake is the son of Kami and Charlie Heck, and has one sister, Sophie.

After high school, Jake plans to major in criminal justice, but is unsure whether or not he will continue playing sports.

Jake has played sports since kindergarten, and says his favorite sports memory is when the Hornets advanced to the final four last season in football.

Jake’s favorite quote is “If you ain’t first, you’re last” from the movie Talladega Nights.

Outside of sports, Jake likes hunting and fishing. His favorite sports team is the Chicago Cubs, and his favorite athlete is Kris Bryant.

If Jake could tell the underclassmen playing football anything, it would be to get as many reps as you can and to always stick with it.

The goals for Jake this season are to win conference and advance to the playoffs.

Taylor “Cookie” Cook is a senior member of the Nashville High School Cross Country team. Taylor is the daughter of Shawn and Cheryl Cook and has two siblings, Olivia and Carson.

After high school, Taylor does not plan to continue athletics, but wants to study animal sciences to later become a veterinarian.

Taylor would say her favorite sports memory was at cross country practice when the team was out on their run, Patrick Neil and Derek Malawy would find random things along the road and then proceed to bring each thing back to the school. One time they brought back a microwave.

Taylor began running cross country to stay in shape for track in the spring.

Outside of sports, Taylor likes the St. Louis Cardinals, and enjoys to read.

Taylor’s advice to underclassmen would be to pass people going down the hills.

Taylor’s goal this season is to get past sectionals and go to state.
