Penny Wars continues until Friday, October 14th, please help your child’s class fill their jar with lots of pennies!! Penny Wars is sponsored by our Student Council and all donations will help Mr. Don Knight. Mr. Knight retired last December after serving as a custodian for District #49 for many years. Mr. Knight is currently undergoing radiation treatments for cancer. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Our annual Fried Chicken Dinner is Thursday, October 20th from 4-7pm. Please return all money and unsold tickets to school by Wednesday, October 12th. When you sell tickets please be sure to put your child’s name on the back of the ticket, they will be in a drawing for a cash prize!

Friday, October 14 is our first Rachel Day! Please have your child wear their Rachel shirt or any blue shirt creating a sea of blue to promote the chain reaction of kindness. Please join us by wearing your Rachel Shirt or a blue shirt on Friday…let’s continue the chain reaction of kindness throughout our community!!

Friday is also the end of the first quarter.

Looking ahead:

Thursday, October 20 is an 11:30 dismissal, there will not be Jr. Hornets on this date. Parent Teacher Conferences are also this day.

Friday, October 21 there is no school with the continuation of Parent Teacher Conferences.

Our Halloween Parade for Kindergarten: Fourth Grade will be at 8:45 am on Monday, October 31 in the Primary School Gym. The primary school gym will open to visitors at 8:30 am, please note our receptionist will be in the foyer assisting you to sign in. Children are to come to school in their costume. Please no costumes with weapons. Remember to have a change of clothes for your child for the rest of the school day. Feel free to go to your child’s classroom to help in changing clothes after all the students are back in their classrooms. Please join us for this fun fall event!
