For the seventh consecutive year, the Nashville Hornets boys golf team advanced out of Regionals and to Sectionals. The Hornets competed in the Waterloo Gibault Regional on October 4, before playing in the Sectional on October 10. Nashville finished tied for second in the Regional, behind host school Waterloo Gibault. At Sectionals, the Hornets struggled finishing tenth out of twelve teams
Since 2009, the boys golf team at Nashville high school, has advanced out of Regionals every season, including five straight Regional championships from 2011-2015. The Hornets finished tied with Red Bud for second place with a score of 345. Waterloo Gibault finished with a score of 338.
Leading the way for the Hornets was Briley Dahncke, who finished with an 85, followed by Jacob Maschhoff with an 86. Hayden Heggemeier and Tyler Williamson each finished with a 87 on the course. Kelton Harre shot a 93, and Carson Parker finished with a 97.
Nashville's sectional was in Robinson at Quail Creek Country Club. A tough Sectional, the Hornets shot 370 on the day, the Hornets were led by Heggemeier, who shot an 89, followed by Williamson with a 91, Harre with a 94, and Dahncke with a 96.
The Hornets finished up with a great season. After losing their top two players from last year's team, the Hornets stepped up, winning the conference championship for the eighth consecutive year, and the 14th conference championship in the last 18 years.
