Nashville Cross Country Continues Strong Season

The Nashville Hornets cross country teams continued their successful season, as they competed in the Pinckneyville Cross Country Invitational, which was held at Lake Sallateeska on October 6. The boys team finished third behind Salem and Pinckneyville, while the girls team took home first place, ahead of Okawville and Red Bud.

In the girls meet Nashville finished with 102 points, sixteen points ahead of second place Okawville. The top finisher for Nashville was Sabrina Kollbaum in fourth place witha time of 21:49. Second across the line for Nashville was Grace Maschhoff in 11th place with a time of 22:30. Maschhoff was followed closely by Brittnie Bartling in 13th place with a time of 22:37. The fourth finisher for Nashville was Jaylyn Bower in 23rd place with a time of 23:18. Jadah Heidel rounded out the top five for Nashville in 51st place with a time of 26:30. Heidel just beat out her teammate Taylor Cook, who finished in 52nd place with a time of 26:47. The last finisher to cross the line for Nashville was Avery Meade in 57th place with a time of 27:22.

In the boys meet, Nashville finished in third place with 124 points, well behind second place Pinckneyville, and winner Salem. Nashville was led by Brandon Schnitker who finished in third place with a time of 16:48. Second for Nashville in the race was Caleb Zgonina in 16th place with a time of 18:42. Landon Davis was right behind Zgonina in 18th place with a time of 18:43. Fourth across the line for the Hornets was Gavin Loe in 24th place with a time of 19:06. Rounding out the top five for Nashville was Derek Baugh with a time of 21:10. Nicholas Orr and Evan Anderson were the final two runners for Nashville finishing with times of 21:20, and 23:23 respectively.
