Here we go guys, the hockey season has begun; On Thursday evening Steve and Gina Droege were in attendance at Scottrade Center that kicked off the franchise 50th Anniversary season that linked the original 1967 – 1968 St. Louis Blues team. The Blues had an exciting 3 -2 victory over the Minnesota Wild. Five players from the original Blues that had taken the ice 50 years ago at the old St. Louis Arena were present. One being my favorite player, #5 Bob Plager. They all received a loud standing ovation, none louder than the one for Blues fan favorite, former defenseman Bob Plager. What a year this will be. (I hope)

Here is a Pumpkin Cheesecake Recipe for October 21:
For the filling:
4 blocks of cream cheese (8oz), Softened
1 16oz can pumpkin puree
1 ¼ Cup Sugar
½ Cup Sour Cream
1/4 Tablespoons Flour
2 Teaspoons Vanilla
2 Teaspoons Pumpkin Pie Spice
For the crust:
2 ½ Cups Graham Cracker Crumbs
1 Tablespoon Sugar
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
½ Stick Butter (melted)
In small bowl, mix together the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, cinnamon and melted butter to form the crust. You’ll want it mixed well enough that you can pinch it together and it holds its form.
Press into the bottom of a spring form pan and set aside.
To make the filling, mix together the softened cream cheese, sugar, sour cream and eggs until smooth.
Blend in the pumpkin puree, flour and pumpkin pie spice slowly until well mixed.
Pour over the crust into a spring form pan and place the spring form pan inside of a deep casserole or baking dish.
Pour water into the baking dish until it reaches 1” around spring form pan. Be careful not to get any on the cheesecake. Why are you doing this? To keep your cheesecake from cracking and splitting.
Bake at 375 degrees for one hour and let cool completely. Refrigerate at least one hour before serving.
On Wednesday for Girl’s Day Out there were only two of us. Rosemary Koenigstein and Ora Mae Droege, as our third associate had other obligations. Ever prepared Rosemary packed a full lunch for us as we headed to St. Mary Antique Mall at St. Mary, MO. They don’t have food to purchase anymore so we bring our lunch. It was a great day, we may not have purchased much, but really neat browsing around of the variety of new and old items. More memories.
Friends gathered at Seg’s Place in Venedy Saturday evening for Dan Schuetz 70th Birthday. Congratulations Tiger.
Steve and Gina Droege and Ed and Laura Paszkiewicz dined together at Eagle’s Nest in Addieville Friday Evening.
