Irene Rooneo of Nashville, IL passed away on the morning of Monday, October 31, 2016. She had reached the age of 83 years, 3 months and 17 days.
She was born July 14, 1933 in Washington County, IL, daughter of Henry and Antonia (Labuda) Bochantin. Irene was united in marriage to Walter B. Rooneo May 30, 1956 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Nashville and he preceded her in death on December 29, 2011.
Irene worked in St. Louis at the American Red Cross and later at MCA Record Company in Pinckneyville.
Irene is survived by her daughter, Kimberly and husband, Peter Barger, and her granddaughters, Sophia Josephine Barger & Lilly Antonina Barger, and numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, Leo Bochantin, Max Bochantin, Marian Bochantin, and Paul Bochantin and one sister, Angela Liszewski.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Ann Catholic Church in Nashville, IL on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 10 A.M. with Fr. Andy Knopik officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Ann (Old) Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville, IL on Friday from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. and on Saturday from 7:30 A.M. until 9:30 A.M.
The rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Friday at 7 P.M.
Should friends desire, mass offerings or memorials may be made to the St. Ann Catholic Church and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
