Mr. John T. Forys of Nashville, IL, departed this life at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 10:05 A.M. He had attained the age of 62 years, 9 months and a day.

Mr. Forys was born on February 4, 1954 at San Diego, CA, the son of Victor and Ruth (Fehlber) Forys. He was united in marriage to Sharon Boehne on November 29, 1975 in Nashville, IL and she survives his passing.

John was raised in Nashville, IL and resided there until his passing. He received his undergraduate degree from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL and was a member of the Saluki Football team from 1972-1976. John began his career at the Nashville Municipal Golf Course in Nashville and he also worked at the Spring Valley Golf Course in Okawville and assisted them in developing and building their 18 hole golf course. He returned to Nashville and finished his career as the Superintendent of the Nashville Golf Course. John enjoyed spending time outdoors with his wife Sharon, bike rides, concerts, visiting wineries, music, art, dancing and most importantly spending time with friends and family was what John Loved most. John’s smile and energy, paired with his inability to ever consider someone a stranger, meant he was loved by many.

Left to mourn his passing is his wife Sharon Forys of Nashville, IL; five children, Wendy Forys of Maryville, IL, Jessica Cameron and husband Keith of Worden, IL, Traci Ritchey and husband Jonathan of Stafford, VA, Jason Forys and wife Jessie of Collinsville, IL , Scott Forys and wife Heather of St. Elmo, IL; seven grandchildren, Madilyn and Chesney Cameron, Violet and Samuel Ritchey and Annie, Mollie and Sydnie Forys; two brothers, Michael Forys and wife Carole of Glendale, CA and Patrick Forys and wife Carol of Yorktown, VA; mother-in-law, Marilyn Boehne of Nashville; brother-in-law, Tom Wilson of Washington, IL; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Ruth Ann Wilson and his father-in-law, Wallace Boehne.

Per the wishes of John and his family, cremation will be performed and a celebration of life service will be held at Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville, IL on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 11 A.M.

Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville, IL on Friday from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. and on Saturday from 8 A.M. until the service hour.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation or the Nashville Municipal Golf Course and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
