Mitchell A. Stein, 23, Killed In Auto Wreck Near Addieville Sunday Night

Mitchell A. Stein, 23, of Nashville, was killed in a single vehicle auto wreck late on Sunday evening, November 6.

Stein was the unrestrained driver of Ford SUV that was traveling west on County Highway 1 when the vehicle unexplainably left the road on the south side, traveling through two wooden fences and a cow pasture before striking a tree in the yard of the residence at 14502 County Highway 1 near Addieville.

Washington County Coroner Mark Styninger’s office was dispatched to the scene at 11:31 p.m. Sunday evening, and Styninger pronounced Stein dead at 11:45 p.m.

Stein was then extricated from the vehicle by responders on scene from the Addieville Fire Department. There were no other occupants of the vehicle.

According to a statement released by Styninger’s office, an autopsy will not be performed but toxicology samples were taken by the coroner. Cause of death appears to be blunt force trauma.

The accident is being investigated by the Washington County Sheriff’s Department. Other agencies on the scene were the Addieville Fire Department, Washington County Ambulance Service, Nashville Police Department, Okawville Police Department and the Washington County Coroner’s Office.
