Vernita E. Storck, 82, of Okawville, IL passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, November 5, 2016 in Rockwall, TX, where she resided with her daughter.
Vernita was born May 28, 1934 to Emily and Walter Boester of Okawville, IL. She married Dale Storck on July 28, 1961 at Olive Branch Church in Okawville, IL. Soon after they moved to northern Illinois for nearly fifty years, most of those spent in a little stone bungalow on Maple street in Sugar Grove, IL.
A dedicated wife and mother, Vernita's greatest joy was to spend time with her family. She worked very hard to make every holiday, birthday and family gathering extra special. During Gloria and Roger's early years, Vernita was also a caregiver to many children in the neighborhood. Later, she worked at McDonald's for ten years, before retiring to watch her grandchildren. Her great smile could most often be seen at family cookouts or watching her grandchildren, whom she was very proud, at sporting events or musical and play performances. In 2001 Dale and Vernita donated a piece of forested land (Storck Woods) to Washington County so generations of families and school children in the area could learn and appreciate the outdoors. Vernita spent all of 2016 creating a more comfortable life in Rockwall, TX, living with Dale, her daughter and son-in-law. She enjoyed shopping, church on Saturday nights followed by dinner, getting manicures, pedicures and visiting the hairdresser weekly. In her last days she was so happy that she was able to watch the Chicago Cubs win the world series.
Vernita was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Emily Boester and her brother, LeRoy Boester.
She is survived by her husband, Dale H Storck; her daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Marty Beuseling, of Rockwall, TX; her son and daughter-in-law Roger and Kristine Storck of Sugar Grove, IL; and four grandchildren, Jenna Siebens of Greenville, TX; Rebecca and her husband Beck Ackmann of Lavon, TX; Trevor Storck of Sugar Grove, IL and Jessica Storck of Sugar Grove, IL; her brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Joyce Boester of New Minden, IL; a sister in law; LaVerne Boester of Detmer, MO, her brother in law and sister-in law, George and Corine Engele; a special niece; Judy Thurston and many other beloved nieces, nephews and longtime family friends, Michael Wallace and Jordan Phillips.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 11, 2016 at St. John UCC cemetery in Plum Hill with Rev. Don Jones officiating.
