Hornets Baseball Awards

The Nashville Hornets baseball team handed out their team awards from last season.

The Co-MVPs on the season were Jaris Dalman, who batted .368 and led the team with 29 RBIs, and Brady Bultman, who led the pitching staff with eight wins, while batting .330 at the plate with 24 RBIs.

Cody Bauza took home the Top Offensive Player Award, as well as the Nelson Hutching Batting Average Award and the Jody Gajewski Hustle Award. Bauza finished with a team-high 15 doubles and a .402 average.

The Co-Top Pitcher Awards went to Ryan Brink and Brogan Kemp. Brink finished with a 7-2 record and a 1.452 ERA on the season. Kemp finished with a 7-0 record, and led the team with 73 strikeouts.

The most improved player went to Austin Anderson. Anderson finished with a .292 batting average, to go along with a 4-2 record on the mound with a 1.328 ERA and 68 strikeouts.

The Top Defensive Player was given to Hayden Heggemeier. Heggemeier played center field for Nashville last season.

The Hornets finished with a 27-6 record last season. Nashville shared the conference championship, and took home a Regional Championship. The Hornets season came to an end against Carmi-White County in the DuQuoin Sectional.
