Attention Senior Parents – Financial Aid: One of the first steps of the college financial aid process is completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form. The FAFSA enables students who qualify to receive federal/state grants, scholarships, as well as to participate in work-studies programs. This form was available for submission on October 1. ALL senior parents are reminded to fill out and submit their FAFSA form as soon as possible!
Second Semester Schedule Changes: If a student would like to make a request for a second semester schedule change, the request must be turned into the counseling office by the close of school on Friday, December 2. Students are encouraged to talk to their counselor about any schedule change requests to ensure graduation requirements are being met. Always remember, there is no guarantee changes will be made for every request.
To make a request for a schedule change a student must obtain a green Request to Change form from the counseling office. To complete the form, be sure to include the following information:
1. Reason for the request
2. If requesting to leave a full year class, student must get teacher initials.
3. Parent Signature
4. Student Signature
Scholarships: As we receive information on scholarships, they will posted on the Counseling Office webpage at: https://sites.google.com/a/nashville-k12.org/scholarships/
Mid-Term: Mid-term of the 2nd quarter is Friday, November 18th.
Advanced Technology Showcase at SEMO: On Friday, Nov. 18, SEMO will be hosting an “Advanced Technology Showcase” on campus to juniors and seniors in graphics, chemistry, physics, upper-level math, computers, industrial technology, and career and technology subjects an opportunity to experience the industrial and engineering technology disciplines at SEMO. This half-day session will also allow students to meet with faculty, staff, and students who will highlight the state-of-the-art facilities and technology with personal demonstrations throughout the building while also learning about their academic program. College Representative Visits at NCHS: Students who are interested in visiting with college representatives should come to the Counseling Office to sign up. Currently scheduled college representative visits:

College Fairs: As we encourage students to apply early to college, we also encourage parents and students to be educated about their decisions. An excellent avenue to find out about various colleges is a college fair. Listed below is the next college fair in our region.

ACT Testing Dates: The next ACT with open registration is December 10. Late registration is due by November18. Additional testing dates this year are February 11, April 8, and June 10. Registration is typically due 5 weeks before the testing date. Students may register at www.ACTStudent.org. Our high school code is 143-110.
SAT Testing Dates: The next SAT with open registration is December 3. Deadline for late registration is November 22. Additional SAT testing dates for the year are January 21, March 11, May 6, and June 3. Registration is typically due 5 weeks before the testing date. Student may register at www.collegeboard.org.
