NIT Tournament Schedule Released

The Nashville Hornettes girls basketball team will begin their season with the Nashville Girls Thanksgiving Tournament. Eight teams, divided into two different pools, will compete in the tournament. Collinsville, Freeburg, Mascoutah, and Nashville make up Pool A, while Benton, Mt. Vernon, Okawville, and Wesclin make up Pool B.

The tournament kicks off on Monday, November 21. In the North Gym, Nashville will take on Freeburg at 6:30 p.m. That game will be followed by Collinsville taking on Mascoutah at 8:00 p.m. In Assembly Hall Mt. Vernon will take on Okawville at 6:30, followed by Benton vs. Wesclin at 8:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, November 22, the tournament continues with Okawville and Wesclin facing off in the North Gym at 6L30 p.m. Benton and Mt. Vernon will follow that game. In Assembly Hall the action will be kicked off by Collinsville taking on Freeburg at 6:30. The late game, which begins at 8:00 p.m. will feature Mascoutah and Nashville.

The tournament's final day of action will be on Saturday, November 26. Each game will take place in Assembly Hall. The action will get started at 9:00 a.m. When Freeburg takes on Mascoutah. At 10:30, the Hornettes will take on Collinsville, followed by Wesclin taking on Mt. Vernon at noon. Okawville and Benton will square off at 1:30 p.m.

The champions from each pool will play in the championship game at 8:00 p.m.. The third place game will take place at 6:30 p.m. The fifth place game will take place at 5:00 p.m. The seventh place game will take place at 3:30 p.m. Ties will be determined by head-to-head record first, defensive average second, and free-throw percentage third.
