Hoyleton– November 16, 2016

Patricia Rensing

Christmas is around the corner. Amanda Garrison, Coordinator of Research and Donor Relations of Hoyleton Ministries is overseeing the Santa Project in the Residential Program. Over the years, their Christmas program has grown rather large. It is their goal, with our help, to provide the most joyful Christmas possible for the children. As a result of the recent growth, Hoyleton is desperately trying to make sure each child gets adopted for Christmas. The Children have completed Santa letters with their name, age, gender, needs and wants. Christmas giving is enhanced when bringing smiles to the less fortunate. If you are able to adopt a child, please contact Amanda Garrison at 618-688-4727, extension 2318 or email her:

Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ, Hoyleton – Next Sunday children’s Sunday School begins at 9:00 am and Worship at 10:00 am. Totenfest will be celebrated as we remember the lives of those departed this year: Elsie Pries, Larvin Kleiboeker, Gary Hongersmeier and Rev. Howard Self. Pastor Bill Causer’s sermon is titled “The World’s True King”. Scriptures readings are from Jeremiah 23:1-6 and Colossians 1:11-20. This day emphasizes both the character and purpose of Christ and the activities and characteristics of those who bear his name. As citizens of Christ’s reign we are to participate in his ministry. After worship, lunch will be provided and then decorations and preparations for Advent will begin. All are welcome to join us.
