Mrs. Mary Ellen McKinley (nee Sonsoucie), age 79, of Caseyville, (formerly of Okawville) departed this life at her home on Sunday, November 6, 2016 surrounding by her loving family.
Mary was born in Old Mines, Mo., on August 25, 1937, the daughter of Robert and Mabel (nee Missey) Sonsoucie. She was united in marriage to Doyle G. McKinley on May 3, 1963 and he preceded her in death on April 21, 1997.
Left to mourn her passing are her children, Vicki Cook of Wesley Chapel, Fla., Tenney (Kevin) Gump of Belleville, Bill (Kay) Burrough of Venedy, Kathy (Alan) Lake of Okawville, Julie (Sheldon) Bateman of Portland, Ore., Gene (Amy) McKinley of Franklin, Tenn., Angie (William) Sautter) of Atlanta, Ga., and Janet (Ed) Roelle of Flint, Mich; 25 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great- great-grandson; four brothers, David, Jimmy, Randy and Bobby; four sisters, Diane, Becky, Sheila and Peggy; along with numerous nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie and Dickey; sister Sharon Thompson, a sister-in-law, a step-son Michael McKinley and a granddaughter.
Mary was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and loved to read, cook, garden, play cards and spend time with her family.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and will be accepted at Campagna Funeral Home in Okawville.
A private family inurnment ceremony will be held at a later date in Advance, Mo.
