Our deepest sympathy is extended to the families of Delores Unverferht and Edith Seeger. Both of these matriarchs offered so much of themselves to our community.

Happy birthday wishes are sent to Debbie Beckmeyer!

Zion UCC will celebrate the first Sunday of Advent on Nov. 27. Pastor Bill’s sermon is titled “Ready and Waiting – For What?” Scripture readings are from Isaiah 2:1-5 and Romans 13:11-14. Advent is the first season of our Church calendar year. Instead of four there are six seasons in the Church year. The Church changes our sense of what’s going on in the world by changing our sense of time. Children’s Sunday School is at 9:00 am. and Worship is at 10:00 am. All are welcome. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

An appreciation and farewell potluck was hosted for Debbie Kleiboeker on Sunday. Debbie is relocating to St. Louis and all wished her well as she moves into her new home, begins her new job, and prepares for her granddaughter’s arrival in January, 2017.

Pastor Bill Causer brought forward an inspirational fact at service–Laminin, the cell adhesion protein molecule that holds our bodies together when imaged portrays a cross. It struck me just as laminin is the glue holding us together so is the cross, serving as a symbol of our faith – the glue that holds us together.
