Judith A. Birschkus

Mrs. Judith Birschkus of Okawville, IL departed this life in the Washington County Hospital in Nashville on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 2:40 A.M. after a brief struggle with cancer. She had attained the age of 70 years, 1 month and 16 days.

Judith was born in East St. Louis, IL on October 23, 1946 the daughter of the late, Dorman and Virginia (nee West) Clark. She was united in marriage to Robert L. Birschkus in Okawville on June 2, 1985 and he preceded her in death on September 17, 1994.

Mrs. Birschkus was a member of the Lighthouse Church in Okawville. She was a truck driver out of Teamsters Local 100 in Belleville until her retirement. She loved gardening and doing yard work. She also enjoyed Bingo and would often go to play. She especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Left to mourn her passing is her two daughters, Janet Groves of Okawville and Kathy Montgomery of Percy, IL; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one brother, Don Clark and wife Rosemary of Mt. Olive, IL; numerous nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Harry Tucker.

In accordance with Judy’s wishes, cremation will be performed and a Celebration of Life service will be held at the Lighthouse Church in Okawville at a later date.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the family of Judith Birschkus and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
