Anthony A. Buss, 79, of Oakdale, was found dead in the early evening of Thursday, December 8.
At 5:36 p.m. that day, the office of Washington County Coroner Mark Styninger was dispatched to an area near 4442 State Route 153, Oakdale, for a deceased person found in the woods.
Buss as found approximately 1 mile east of this residence between a field and woods and he was pronounced dead at 6:05 p.m. by Styninger.
Buss was the owner of the property in which he was found and according to a neighbor was last seen two to three days prior to his body being discovered.
Buss suffered from dementia and appears to have been walking on his property and presumably could not find his way back.
Access to the deceased was gained by using fire department ATVs. The cause of death was hypothermia and no foul play is suspected.
The incident was being investigated by the Washington County Sheriff’s Department and Coroner’s office.
