Saints Drop Two Of Three
The St. Ann boys basketball team dropped two of their three games this past week as they defeated North Wamac, before losing to St. Mary and TSJ/ILS. The Saints record currently stands at 11-10.
The Saints got their eleventh win of the season against North Wamac 51-33 on December 10. A tie game after the first quarter, the Saints took the lead for good in the second quarter, and took a 22-17 lead into halftime. The Saints put the game away for good in the third quarter, as they outscored North Wamac 22-8. In the fourth, St. Ann cruised to an 18 point victory.
Logan Eversgerd led St. Ann with 18 points in the game. Nick Miller also was in double figures with 14 points in the win. Tommy Herzog added six points, followed by Kaden Linkey with four points. Luke Pedtke scored three points in the win. Brayden Bauza, Aaron Stanowski, and Quintin Loquasto each had two points in the game.
The Saints were back in action on December 14 against St. Mary. St. Ann could not overcome a slo first quarter, as St. Mary took the game 49-38. The Saints were outscored 19-6 in the first quarter. St. Ann chipped away at the lead in the second, cutting the St. Mary lead to eight points at the halftime break, but St. Mary put the game away coming out of halftime. The Saints were outscored 15-9 in the third quarter, and could not make a comeback in the fourth, as St. Mary took the game.
Eversgerd led St. Ann with 17 points. Eversgerd was joined in double figures by Miller, who scored 12 points in the game. The other two scorers for the Saints were Pedtke, who finished with five points, and Stanowski with four points.
The Saints final game of the week as a 35-26 loss to TSJ/ILS on December 16. TSJ/ILS jumped out to an early lead, as they outscored the Saints 9-4 in the first. The Titans extended their lead in the second quarter and took a 17-10 lead into the break. In the third, the Saints could not make any headway as each team scored seven points in the quarter. In the fourth, the Titans closed out the game for a nine point win.
Miller led the Saints with 15 points in the win. Eversgerd added six points, followed by Bauza and Herzog with two points apiece. Pedtke scored one point to round out the scoring.
