Mr. James Lester Dickerson of Nashville, departed this life at his residence in Nashville on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 1:20 P.M. He had attained the age of 72 years, 3 months and 20 days.

Mr. Dickerson was born on August 29, 1944 in Meridian, Miss., the son of Lester and Eleanor (Robinson) Dickerson. He was united in marriage to LaVerne (Pokorney) Kwiatkowski on September 11, 2002 and she survives his passing.

James worked for Stahly Cartage in Channahon for 30 years until his retirement. He loved to play golf and spend time with his grandchildren.

Left to mourn his passing is his wife LaVerne Dickerson of Nashville; a son, Tim Kwiatkowski and wife Ruth of Belleville; two daughters, Christy Bunyard and husband Scott of Tennessee, and Krista Kwiatkowski and Kevin Hill of Scottsdale, Ariz.; six grandchildren, Collins, Justin, Dede, Cory, Sydney and Aiden; a great grandchild, Kylee; seven brothers and sisters, Robert Dickerson and wife Ann of San Diego, Calif., Maryann Maggart of Biloxi, Miss., Doris Moore and husband William of Mississippi, Buddy Joe Dickerson and wife Minnie of Meridian, Miss., Billy Ray Dickerson of Pekin, Doug Dickerson and wife Diane of Sebastopol, Miss., and Barbara Moore of Miss.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Joyce Harper.

Per the wishes of James and his family, cremation was performed and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Siteman Cancer Center or the family of James Dickerson and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, who is assisting the family with arrangements.
