Police Report – January 4, 2017

December 19

The Nashville Police Department responded to the 1600 block of S. Mill St. for a burglary.

Officers responded to the 400 block of N. Hoffman St. for a theft.

Police responded to S. Mill. St. at E. Masonic Dr. for a truck losing its load.

Officers responded to the 500 block of E. Maple St. for a parking complaint.

Police responded to the 500 block of E. Maple St. for a theft of Christmas lights.

December 20

Police responded to the 500 block of E. Legion Dr. for found property.

Officers responded to the 400 block of E. St. Louis St. for a suspicious vehicle.

Police responded to the 400 block of N. Hoffman St. for unlawful soliciting.

Officers handled a two-vehicle accident on S. Mill St. at E. Third St. A vehicle driven by Blake Kasten, of Hoyleton, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Amie Thomas of Nashville. There were no injuries and a report was taken on the accident.

December 21

Police responded to the 600 block of E. National Mine Rd. for a suspicious vehicle.

Officers responded to St. Rt. 127 at Mockingbird Rd. for a report of a two-vehicle traffic crash with unknown injuries. Police arrived on-scene and discovered that there was no traffic crash at that location. Police checked the area and were unable to locate any crashes or motorist assists. Police advised dispatch to cancel fire and EMS.

December 22

Police responded to the 700 block of W. Alton St. for harassment.

Officers responded to the 500 block of N. Mill St. for an intoxicated subject that couldn't walk.

Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for not having a front registration plate. As a result of the stop, police issued the driver, Bryar Belmont, of Nashville, citations for driving while license suspended and for operating uninsured vehicle. Bryar was also issued a verbal warning for no front registration.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for having only one headlight. Police subsequently arrested the driver, Pedro Perez-Bernal, of St. Louis, for driving with no valid driver's license. Pedro was also issued a verbal warning for one headlight. Pedro was taken to the Washington County Jail.

December 23

Police responded to St. Rt. 15 near County Highway 21 to assist the Sheriff's Department with a report of a male subject walking in the middle of the highway. Police made contact with the subject who was walking on the shoulder upon police arrival. A deputy transported the subject to his vehicle in Venedy.

Officers assisted the Washington County Sheriffs Office with a multiple vehicle traffic crash accident on I-64 at the 54 mile marker, and the report of a fight between two of the drivers that were involved in the accident.

December 24

Police responded to the 900 block of W. St. Louis St. for a suicidal subject, Jordan Nowitzke, of Bartelso, that had threatened to kill himself and two female subjects with a shotgun. Police later located Nowitzke and transported him to the hospital in Centralia. Charges of Intimidation, Aggravated Assault, and additional charges are being sought upon his release from the hospital.

Officers responded to the 700 block of W. Adams St. for a theft.

Police responded to 1320 W. Jefferson Dr. for a one-vehicle accident. The driver, Jean Light, 28 of St. Louis, was using his cell phone while driving and left the roadway, striking the mailbox of the residence located at 1320 W. Jefferson Dr. Light was not injured but his vehicle was damaged and caused damage to the mailbox. Light was cited for improper use of a communication device, and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Officers assisted Washington County Sheriff's Department with an accident on St. Rt. 127. Police observed no injuries or road blockage and remained on scene until county arrived and assisted with traffic control.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office requested Nashville Police to check on a possible motorist assist and of a subject walking on Interstate 64 East around the 46mm. Police located the vehicle at the 46mmm and its occupants and advised they had been walking along the road in an attempt to find the object that flattened their tire. They advised that they were secure and had assistance on the way.

December 25

Police responded to the 200 block of N. Buhrman St. for a 911 hang-up call.

Police responded to the 18500 block of IL 15 for an alarm

December 27

Officers responded to the 200 block of W. St. Louis for suspicious circumstances.

Cole Rybacki, 19, of Nashville, was issued two citations by police for obstructed windshield and driving with a suspended license. He was issued verbal warnings for improper display of registration plates and for unsafe load.

December 28

Kelly Dickerson, 39, of Ashley, was arrested by police following a traffic stop, and was charged with unlawful display of registration, unlawful possession of registration plates, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. She was taken to Washington County Jail on a felony hold.

Police responded to the 100 block of S. Mill for a custody issue.

December 29

Officers responded to the 18000 block of Enterprise Avenue for a fire alarm.

December 30

Police responded to Black Diamond Road north of Nixon Road to assist the Sheriff’s Department with a report of a vehicle that struck a utility pole. Tri-County Electric was on scene and advised police that the vehicle had left the scene. In the debris from the crash was the vehicle’s license plate. The information was passed on to the Sheriff’s Department.

Officers executed an arrest warrant on Nicholas Wright, 27, of Nashville, for failure to appear.

Police responded to a traffic stop at I-64 WB near mm 50.5 for a State Police Trooper needing assistance. Officers remained on scene until the trooper had completed his search of the vehicle and advised that the situation was secure.

Police responded to the 17900 block of Holzhauer Automall Drive for a civil issue.

Officers responded to the 100 block of S. Kaskaskia for suspicious activity.

December 31

Following a traffic stop, the driver, Andrew Eggersmeier, 23, of Mulberry Grove, was arrested for unlawful display of registration plates, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a look-a-like substance. He also received civil citations for possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia.

Police responded to the 900 block of W. St. Louis St. for disorderly conduct.

January 1

Police responded to I-64 EB near mm46 to assist the Sheriff’s Department with a report of a fight on a party bus. Law enforcement separated the parties involved and gave courtesy transport to two individuals to the Sheriff’s Department so that they could get off the bus and avoid further conflict.

Officers located Ethan Evans, 18, of Nashville, walking and stumbling along E. St. Louis St. east of Nashville. Evans had been drinking and was walking home from an unknown residence outside of Nashville. He was placed under arrest for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

Officers responded to the 10000 block of IL 127 for pedestrians in the roadway.

Police issued civil citations to two juveniles for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia as the result of a traffic stop.
