Central College Symphonic Wind Ensemble Performance Thursday At Grace UMC

The Central College Symphonic Wind Ensemble plans a performance in Nashville, Illinois as part of their winter tour schedule. The performance will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, 250 N. Mill Street, on Thursday, January 12, 2017, at 7:30 p.m.

The twenty-seven-member ensemble will also be visiting Centerville, IA, Hermitage, TN and Nashville, TN as part of their tour. The Symphonic Wind Ensemble rehearses every Tuesday and Thursday at Central College, a private, liberal arts college located in Pella, Iowa. They are one of the premier ensembles on campus that tours every year. Recently, they have traveled to Memphis, New Orleans and Merida, Mexico.

Friendships formed in the wind ensemble are only part of what makes the group special. “I love the musicianship of the group,” says Chrystal Von Ahsen, a music education major from Adel. “We blend together well. It’s really nice to create something with other people.”

The public is invited to attend this concert and there is no charge for the performance.
