Mobile Market In Nashville On January 17

The Mobile Market comes to Nashville the third Tuesday of each month through a partnership between 4-H Youth Hunger Ambassadors, St. Ann Catholic School, Nashville FFA and a grant from the Illinois 4-H Foundation. The Mobile Market will be at the Washington County Fairgrounds Commercial Building in Nashville from 10 a.m. to Noon, or until all the food is gone, on January 17, 2017.

Some of the items available for free will include fresh produce, dairy, and other perishable foods. Supplies will be available on a first come first served basis until food runs out. Participants should plan to bring boxes, bags, or carts to carry groceries home.

In case of snow and icy roads that result in school closing, the Mobile Market will potentially be cancelled for the day. To check for cancellation, call 618-327-8881. To ensure the safety and wellness of participating community volunteers (youth and adult) the following will be enforced:

Doors will open at 10 a.m., later if the truck is running late

Prepare for the weather-chairs, water, umbrellas, coats, etc. Line numbers will be assigned in order of arrival (one per household)

Tickets will be handed out (one set per household) for variety/misc items on hand

Full pallets of produce may be available in larger quantities (quantities for the day will be noted)

After everyone has been through the line, participants may be allowed to return for leftover items on hand.

For the sake of everyone’s safety, we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who:

Exhibits disrespect, including verbal abuse towards staff, volunteers, or other participating community members.

Exhibits any indication of alcohol use.

Exhibits violent behavior.

Is smoking on the property.

Has weapons on their person.

Refuses to cooperate with or follow the practices and guidelines in place for the event.

If necessary, police personnel will handle behavior problems that pose a potential threat or disrupts service.

The 4-H Youth Hunger Ambassadors, St. Ann Catholic School and Nashville FFA are always seeking volunteers to help at the Mobile Market on the third Tuesday of each month.

If you are available to help, or have questions about the Mobile Market, please call 618-327-8881.

Future Mobile Market dates are February 21, March 21, April 18 and May 16.
