On Monday, January 9 the Titans hosted the St. Libory Saints. They defeated them 47-24. Halfway through the third quarter the Saints switched to man defense to try to overcome a 28-22 deficit The Titans ran their half court man offense effectively to take a 47-24 lead, icing the the game away. The scoring was Mason Meyer 17, Caleb Unverfehrt 13, Boomer Harris 8, Tyler Schill 5, Ashton McGranahan 2 and Dominic Perry with 2. Leading rebounders were Meyer and Harris with 10 each.
The following night, January 10, TSJ/ILS traveled to Hoffman and came away with a 48-20 victory. It was a relatively close game for the first half; but when Hoffman went to man defense in the second half the Titans ran their 4 corner offense to perfection getting many lay-ups off, back-door cuts and drives to the basket. The team shot 55% from the floor. Scoring for the Titans as follows: Mason Meyer 18, Caleb Unverfehrt 16, Boomer Harris 10, Ashton McGranahan 2 and Jonah Kemp 2. Leading rebounders for the Titans were Boomer Harris 13 and Mason Meyer 10.
To finish the week on the 12th the TSJ/ILS Titans made the trip to Oakdale and came away with a hard fought win 50-43. Oakdale the last three quarters played and box and one defense. After some coaching adjustments the Titan offense overcame the gimmick defense and pulled out a win. One reason for the victory was their overall offensive play with only four turnovers and 12 assists which is super. Additionally, the Titans as a team made 17 of 25 free throws. It was a good week going 3-0 and bringing their season record to 19-4 going into the Steeleville Lutheran tournament next week. Scoring was led by Mason Meyer and Ashton McGranahan each with 13 each. Boomer Harris 12, Caleb Unverfehrt 10 and Tyler Schill 2. Boomer Harris had 12 rebounds and went 8-10 from the free throw line.
