Diane Speare
Diane Kay (Unverfehrt) Speare, 65, of Kissimmee, Fla., passed away early Thursday morning at 12:25 a.m. at her home with her husband, son and sisters by her side.
Diane was born November 17, 1951 in Centralia, the daughter of Gus C. and Irene (Michael) Unverfehrt of Hoyleton.
Diane’s mother, Irene, preceded her in death on October 17, 2012.
Survivors include her Husband of 20 years, Barry; son Brenden Smith; three sisters: Paula Unverfehrt of Dayton, Ohio; Brenda Sanders and husband, Larry of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; Patty Finne of Delhi, N.Y.; two brothers: Larry Unverfehrt and wife, Kathy; and Kevin Unverfehrt and wife, Janet, both of Hoyleton; ads well as numerous nephews and nieces.
Diane grew up on the family farm in Hoyleton. She attended Trinity Lutheran Grade School in Hoyleton, graduated from Nashville Community High School and attended Concordia Lutheran College, where she graduated with a degree in teaching.
Diane both taught at Lutheran Parochial Schools and Public Schools. She dedicated her life to teaching and retired Spring of 2016 due to her illness. Diane taught in several different schools in Illinois, Michigan, Vermont and finished out her career in Kissimmee, Fla.
Diane and Husband, Barry loved to travel with their motor home and traveled from one side of the United States to the other. They have made many friends throughout the years and will be missed by all, including their pet shih tzu dogs: Kucho and Gizzmo.
