Hoyleton – January 25, 2017

Patricia Rensing

“94 Bottles of Beer on the Wall” was the theme set forth by Jan Kasten as a large group of family and friends converged last Thursday to Kretzer’s to celebrate Wif Kasten’s . . .94th Birthday. Wif and Jan traversed throughout the establishment dispersing the bottles. Wif’s actual birthday is January 29.

Zion UCC thanks those who joined us last Sunday for our Annual Congregational Meeting and for the potluck luncheon afterwards. We welcome new Council members Laura Beth Renth and Donna Klie and thank outgoing members Elsie Gilliland and Jeff Spinks. January 29, we will celebrate the 4th Sunday of Epiphany with Scripture readings from Micah 6:1-8 and Matthew 5:1-12. Pastor Bill’s sermon is titled “The People of God’s World”. The fruit of living a Godly life, even if it embodies all that Jesus has itemized in the Beatitudes, is JOY! Rejoice because you are walking in the footsteps of Jesus and the Prophets. All are welcome to join us for Children’s Sunday School at 9:00 am and Worship at 10:00 am. No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here!

Our sympathy and prayers are extended to the family of Diane (Unverfehrt) Speare who left this world on January 20, 2017.
