Recently, the Nashville FFA Chapter hosted a school-wide campaign called Donate for Donuts which provides the people at the local Women’s Center in Carbondale, with the necessities for everyday living.
All of the items that were donated go to men, women, and children who are fleeing domestic abuse in the Southern Illinois area.
During their second hour class, students from Nashville Community High School were encouraged to bring items such as lightly used clothing, toiletries, toys, and other necessary items for everyday use.
All told, 3,538 items were collected.
The winning class that will receive donuts for collecting 595 items with an average of 42.5 items was Mrs. Kollbaum’s class.
In fifth place with 38 items and an average of 9.5 was Mr. Kell’s class.
In fourth place was 438 items and an average of 16.84 was Mr. Weather’s class.
In third place with 529 items and an average of 22.14 was Mrs. Giacomo’s class.
In second place with 865 items and an average of 27.9 was Mr. Markotay’s class.
