“I’m the little guy,” said Lloyd Isringhaus. “My dad was next to me and my uncle was next to him.”
Lloyd stated that his father, Grover Isringhaus, and his uncle, Orvy Isringhaus were both now deceased and that he must have been 10 or 11 when the photo was taken.
The family farm, where Lloyd still resides, is north of Addieville or east of Okawville.
The photo was put into the paper in 1973. Lloyd said that the fall was wet that it was too hard to run a combine in the fields and they ended up shucking at least some of the corn by hand.
Lloyd said that he thought that Grover Brinkmann (who had taken a number of the Classic Photos that we have featured here) came out to the farm and shot this picture, but stated that Grover’s name was not on the print of the article which he had framed at his home today.
A “Roland E.” also contacted The Nashville News about The Classic Photo, and did identify the Isringhaus men, but his phone call was hard to understand.
