Jr. Hornettes Continue Season

The Nashville Middle School Jr. Hornettes volleyball team continued their season with matchups against Chester and DuQuoin. The Jr. Hornettes faced off against DuQuoin on February 21 and against Chester on February 23.
The Jr. Hornettes began the week as they faced off against DuQuoin on February 21. The A-Team suffered a two game loss as they dropped the first game 25-16 and lost a close second game 25-23. Emme Paszkiewicz led the Jr. Hornettes with three kills. Daphne Kollbaum finished with two aces, while Whitley Hunter led Nashville with two blocks.
In the B-team matchup, the Jr. Hornettes again suffered a two game loss. DuQuoin took the first game 25-15, before taking the second game 25-19. Jordan Donato and Kollbaum led Nashville with two kills apiece. Kollbaum also finished with three aces.
The C-team picked up a win in two close games over DuQuoin. The C-team won the first game 26-24, and won the second game 9-7. Korbi Rhine finished with six aces in the win. Daci Finke and Rhine each finished with one kill.
In their next matchup, the Jr. Hornettes took on Chester on February 23. In the A-team match, the Jr. Hornettes grabbed a two-game win. In the first game, the Jr. Hornettes defeated Chester 25-13. In Game 2, the margin was even wider as the Jr. Hornettes won 25-9. Hunter filled up the stat sheet with four kills and three blocks in the win. Paszkiewicz finished with five aces in the win.
In the B-team match the Jr. Hornettes suffered a tough three game loss. The Jr. Hornettes dropped the first game 25-21 before bouncing back to take the second game 25-11. In the third and final game, Chester came out on top with a 15-8 win. Hailey Baugh and Donato each had three aces to lead Nashville. Paszkiewicz finished with two kills in the loss.
In the C-team match, the Jr. Hornettes split the two games. Nashville dropped the first game 25-14, before taking the second game 15-10. Valerie Combs had five aces in the match.
