Paula Cornelius

Mrs. Paula Sue Cornelius of Nashville, departed this life at the SSM Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 7:55 P.M. She had attained the age of 59 years, 11 months and 13 days.

Paula was born on April 13, 1957 in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Paul G. and Norma (Lemay) Payton. She was united in marriage to Richard Cornelius on February 13, 1982 in Opdyke, and he survives her passing.

Paula was a homemaker and loved by all that knew her.

Left to mourn her passing is her husband Richard Cornelius of Nashville; mother, Norma Lemay Payton of Mt. Vernon; brother, Dennis Friedman and wife Susie of McLeansboro; aunt, Phyllis Roberts and husband Todd of Mt. Vernon; uncle, Randy Lemay and wife Kathy of Opdyke; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, brother, Terry Friedman; maternal grandparents, Emmit and Nellie Lemay and paternal grandparents, Paul and Della Friedman.

Funeral services will be held at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville, on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 11 A.M. with Rev. Bill Bunnage officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery in Nashville.

Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville, on Wednesday from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. and on Thursday from 7:30 A.M. until the service hour.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
