Dates Set For Graduation, Registration For West Washington Schools

The school board in Okawville held their monthly meeting and invited all of Washington County to join them on Tuesday, April 11, at 6:30pm, at the high school to watch a film called The Heroin Project. One of Okawville’s teachers, Christy Sweet, is helping with the presentation.
The board discussed grass mowing and Two Men and a Mower from Nashville won the bid.
The greenhouse is up and running.
Eighth grade graduation is scheduled for May 17 at 7 pm.
High school graduation is scheduled for May 21 at 2 pm.
Principal Leon Spinka reported from the grade school end that mandated standardized testing was going smoothly.
The third grade had a 100-percent attendance for testing.
The board also approved the journalism staff’s annual trip.
Principal Keith Senior said he had a lot of positive feedback from schools that were represented at the state level as Okawville has been.
Superintendent Scott Furhop told the board that regarding the state it was, “ugly up there.”
The board also passed the resolution that registration for the 2017-2018 school year would begin August 8 from 8 am to 8 pm, and on August 9 from 8 am until noon.
Registration on August 10 is set aside for new families.
