Greenville Tournament Schedule Released

The schedule for the 2017 “Ish” Smith Baseball Classic, which will be held on May 13, has been released. It was named in honor of Robert “Ish” Smith, who was the former coach of the Greenville College baseball team, and the former president of Greenville College. This year  will feature six different teams. Competing this year will be the Greenville Comets, the Vandalia Vandals, the Salem Wildcats, the Nashville Hornets, the Pinckneyville Panthers and the Flora Wolves.

The slate of games will be played in two different locations this year. The Hornets will play all of their games at Greenville High School’s varsity field. Greenville will play Nashville at 10 am, the first game of the day. Nashville will then be back in action at 12 p.m. for their final game against Flora. Greenville and Flora will play the final game at Greenville High School, at 2 p.m.

The other games, which will be played at Vandalia High School, will feature Vandalia, Salem, and Pinckneyville. Vandalia and Salem will play at 10 a.m., followed by Pinckneyville and Salem at 12 p.m., and Pinckneyville and Vandalia at 2 p.m.
