Lindsay Charged With Drug Induced Homicide For Ellerbusch Death

On Friday April 28, 2017 Shane R. Lindsay, 22, of Okawville, was arrested by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Lindsay was jailed in connection to the January 1, 2017 death of Dakota Ellerbusch, 18, of Ashley.

Lindsay appeared in Washington County Court on Monday May 1, 2017 and formally charged by the Washington County State’s Attorney Daniel Bronke for the offenses of drug induced homicide, concealing a death, unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, and obstructing justice. Bond on Lindsay was set by Washington County Courts at $150,000. Lindsay was appointed the Washington County Public Defender.

Linsday’s arrest followed an investigation into the death of Ellerbusch, who was found deceased in rural Okawville. The investigation was conducted by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and a member of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Lindsay remains in the custody at the Washington County Jail pending posting of his court assigned bond.
