Rising Waters: Days Of Torrential Rain For Nashville, Region

When it rains it pours…and pour it did.

Beginning on Thursday, April 27 and going through Sunday, April 30, rain fell, and kept falling.

The weather station operated at the Nashville Water Plant (where The Nashville News get its monthly weather reports), reported 2.01 inches of rain on Thursday, 2.02 inches on Saturday, and 2.30 inches on Sunday, for close to six-and-a-half inches of rain coming down across those days.

Others operating their own rain gauges in the are reported even more– eight or nine inches of rainfall, resulting in flooding like the bridge between main playing fields and the golf course at Memorial Park in Nashville, ABOVE, ending up underwater on Sunday, and worse flooding – much worse, elsewhere in southern Illinois.
