SIU Senior Shaye Harre

Four years removed from leading the Nashville Hornettes to a state championship in her senior season, Shaye Harre is breaking records at SIU-Carbondale. Harre has continued her great career as a Saluki and has already broken three records this season and is tied for another record.
Harre is enjoying a phenomenal year at the plate. This season Harre is batting .326 with 17 doubles, 35 RBIs, a .620 slugging percentage, 53 walks, and a .519 on base percentage. Harre is leading the Missouri Valley Conference in on base percentage, doubles, and walks. Harre is third in the conference in slugging percentage, and eighth in RBIs.
This season Harre became SIU-Carbondale’s all time leader in RBIs. Harre broke the record on a three run home run against Indiana State to give her 149 career RBIs. Harre also broke the record for doubles in a career, and her 17 doubles are tied for the most in a single season by any Saluki’s player. Harre’s 53 walks are also a school record for a single season. Harre also holds the record for doubles in a single game with three, and is tied for the record with home runs in a single game with two.
Saluki’s head coach Kerri Blaylock talked about Harre. “I’m so proud of Shaye and her accomplishments. She is a tremendous player and person. From the moment she stepped on campus she has made an impact.”
Overall Harre has a .328 career batting average, which is eighth all time. Harre is fifth in career home runs with 30. Currently Harre has 182 career hits as a Saluki which is four away from tying 10th place all-time.
