Leona Bathon

Leona L. Bathon, 85, of Pinckneyville, passed away at 11:16 A.M. Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Leona was a homemaker and had been a press operator at Decca Records for several years. She was a member of the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church at Todds Mill and the Catholic Daughters at Todds Mill.

She was born November 14, 1931 at St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Walter and Anna (Brink) Paszkiewicz.

Leona married Michael J. Bathon Jr. on June 14, 1952 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at Posen and he preceded her in death on June 26, 2014.

She is survived by eight children- Gerald M. Bathon of Pinckneyville, Judy Huff and husband Ronnie of Coulterville, Marilyn J. Woodside and husband Allan of Pinckneyville, Beverly Miller and husband Rick of Florida, Marvin Bathon of Pinckneyville, Bernadine J. Morton and Special Friend Johnny Hartman of Pinckneyville, Melvin Bathon and wife Lisa of Pinckneyville, Lori Bruns and husband Alan of Pinckneyville, three brothers- Robert Paszkiewicz of Belleville, Eugene Paszkiewicz and Chester Paszkiewicz both of Nashville, two sisters-Rose Chandler of OíFallon, MO and Vivian Price of Lincoln, IL, fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by here husband, parents, daughter in infancy Mary Ann Bathon, sister in infancy Victoria Paskiewicz and brother- Larry Paszkiewicz.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Todds Mill with Fr. Bernard Goedde Jr. officiating.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. Monday at the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church at Todds Mill, and from 9 A.M. until time of service Tuesday at the church.

A Prayer service will be at 3:45 P.M. Monday at the church.

Burial will be in the St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery.

Friends may make memorials to Masses or the Perry-Jackson County Child Advocacy Center and will be accepted at the funeral home.
